| As we become more aware of our mental habits we begin to notice our thoughts that come and go in a steady stream it seems. In this month's lesson on thoughts we began with a book What is a Thought by Amy Kahofer & Jack Pransky. For several weeks during our mindful listening practice I began noticing my thoughts 'out loud' and inviting the children to do the same. I also asked the 4-5th graders if they could tell me what a thought was. These were their responses. This week we broke into two smaller groups and completed a lesson that asked them to categorize their thoughts into the Past , Present or Future. We talked about what we were noticing when we were present ( attending to the breath or something that was occurring in the moment). They finished their journal page and reflection. |
